NBDB IDLE WOMEN

WEEKEND AND SHORT BREAKS

ON

Narrow Beam Dutch Barge "IDLE WOMEN".

Come and share our love of the inland waterways. Experience with us the peace of travelling at 3mph and enjoy discovering our heritage as we pass leisurely through the English countryside.

Enjoy a long WEEKEND or a SHORT BREAK of 2 or 3 nights in your own centrally heated en-suite cabin.

We offer comfortable accommodation, for one or two guests, a full English breakfast, light lunch, unlimited tea, coffee and soft drinks and the opportunity to watch the constantly changing canalside scenery from the spacious wheelhouse. You can walk the towpath, help at the locks or simply be an 'idle woman'.

"Idle Women" was built in Yorkshire and launched in June 2002. The boat is named in recognition of the work done by women on the waterways in WW II.

The boat has a private rear cabin, double bed, en-suite with flush toilet and handbasin, wardrobe and radiator.

A covered wheelhouse offers protection from the weather, but can be lowered in warm, sunny weather - and when we come to a low bridge.

Forward of the wheelhouse is the galley, with gas cooker, fridge/freezer, microwave as well as proverbial kitchen sink.

The saloon has comfortable seating, dining facilities and a cosy stove. TV/DVD, and CD stereo system. Beyond this is the owners' private bathroom and bedroom. Guests are welcome to use the full size shower.

This year we will be cruising the inland waterways of the Midlands - the Trent and Mersey canal, Coventry canal, the River Soar and later in the season the Grand Union canal towards London.

We also offer Holistic Therapies

at a reasonable rate.

A qualified practitioner can provide Reflexology and Indian Head Massage to further enhance your relaxing break.

You are welcome to bring your own alcohol and we strongly recommend you take out personal travel insurance.

We are experienced boat handlers and have RYA Helmsman Certificates and safety will always be of utmost importance.

"Idle Women" is a 'no smoking' boat.

We have 2 small dogs, so are generally unable to accommodate further pets.
