The way boats are fitted out is changing all the time just a few years ago boat interiors shared a lot in common with the caravan market and many builders still do source much of their fittings from the caravan industry.
Ledgard Bridge made the decision a number of years ago that caravan fittings have no place in a modern residential boat in fact you would have to look hard to find anything not truly domestic in one of our boats.
We still maintain the traditional skills associated with the narrowboat industry but have found in recent years that the demand for the “Rosie & Jim” style of narrowboats as declined while the demand for more comfortable and contemporary designs associated with the industries gradual move from recreational to residential boats have become far more common.
The choice of fit out is still a very individual choice to be made by the customer and we can accommodate most ideas easily from very simple open plan layouts utilising our skills to build elements not available from the local furniture showroom through to complex made to measure cabinet made interiors.
The basic line out can be completed in a range of traditional woods or increasingly now more modern alternatives using Kronospan Melamine panels that are available in a very wide range of finishes or colours or even the simple but elegant solution of simply going for a household style painted finish.
